Let your IMAGINATION fly

It is the 14th Craft Barn Quotes & Lyrics Challenge, and the words this time are IMAGINATION and LOGIC.

I have long been fascinated by those awesome photos taken by the Hubble Telescope, so when I found this quote by Carl Sagan .....

Imagination will often take us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.

Also, by happy co-incidence, I spent some time yesterday with a good friend playing with alcohol inks and Yupo paper (I've not yet taken photos of that session, so will feature my efforts in a different post).

So, this morning, I thought I would continue playing and try to create a faux Hubble photograph!

The good thing about Yupo paper is that it is completely non-absorbent, and the ink just sits there, waiting to be pushed around, and even when it is dry you can reactivate it with rubbing alchohol.


Here's a close up.  The trick is not to overwork it!

    Not tried Yupo paper and alcohol inks yet. Stunning results, exceptional Hubble look a like, very beautiful.

    I've never heard of Yupo paper before, but I adore what you did with both the quote AND the AIs. I'm a bit confused, though. I thought you couldn't get rubbing alcohol in the UK without a prescription. I am glad you can get it where you are, because I use it all the time.

    As for the quote, I have always adored Carl Sagan. And that quote sounds SO like him. You did a marvelous job with the faux image of space. You got some really cool effects.

      Yupo paper can be found on Amazon (and other places), and I finally found 91% rubbing alcohol on Ebay! My next post will have more details. Thank you for your kind comment.

    Wow, my efforts at playing with alcohol inks did not turn out like this, it is stunning.

    A great choice of quote and your alcohol inked piece is fabulous. I've not heard of Yupo paper so I'm off to broaden my knowledge.
